The Yellowknife Music Festival is a local member festival of the Alberta Music Festival Association (AMFA).
The Alberta Provincial Music Festival WILL be held in person in 2024 For Solo and Chamber Disciplines
To compete at the Alberta Provincial Festival a performer must be recommended by the adjudicator at the local Festival and must have adhered to the “Rules Governing The Provincial Festivals” as printed in Alberta Music Festival Association Syllabus.
PLEASE NOTE: Competitors, teachers and parents are responsible for obtaining all pertinent Local, Provincial and National Festival syllabi and for familiarizing themselves with rules, regulations, and requirements. Help will be provided by the Yellowknife Music Festival to help you choose the classes that will help you qualify for recommendation to the Provincial and National levels.
Performers hoping to compete at the Alberta Provincial Music Festival must:
- Enter as “Competitive” in the Yellowknife Music Festival,
- Perform TWO selections at the Yellowknife Music Festival in the same discipline (*Musical Theatre only requires ONE selection),
- Meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the class, and
- Achieve a high level of performance.
